About Us
LOHA Health Ltd (trading as LOHA Community) is a digital relationship-toolkit for families, designed to help parents and carers support young people to build trust, connection and emotional resilience through guided programmes and activities.
Founded by Professor Alison Metcalfe, a leading academic and clinician in family health communication with over 30 years’ experience, LOHA brings together a multidisciplinary team of digital innovators, psychotherapists and business leaders.
We believe that strong family relationships are the foundation for young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. Our vision is simple but powerful: to help families thrive by strengthening the bonds that support happiness, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.
The name LOHA was inspired by a teenager who suggested it stand for Love Over Harm Always — capturing our core aim of building connection and reducing harm.
What We Do
Our core offering is structured around three main groups:
-
For Families – Guided digital activities (5-20 minutes) accessible from any device, weekly programmes, and online coaching. Helps families deal with issues such as anxiety, bullying, self-harm, social media pressures, school transitions and more.
-
For Organisations – We partner with schools, charities, health & social care providers and businesses to deliver our digital toolkit and programmes at scale. We support employee wellbeing, youth services and family-facing settings.
-
For Health & Social Care / Employee Wellbeing – Our digital tools can be embedded in workplace wellbeing programmes, staff training and health and social-care pathways to strengthen relational health, communication and resilience leading to improved mental health outcomes for young people.
How We Facilitate Connection & Meaningful Conversations
At LOHA, we believe that strong family relationships are built through moments of connection, openness and shared experience. Our approach helps families:
-
Start real conversations, even when topics feel difficult. LOHA’s guided activities enable talk, drawing, writing or role-play so parents/carers and young people can express themselves safely and creatively.
-
Feel seen and heard. Teen years are full of pressure and often isolation — LOHA gives young people the opportunity to be listened to, and supports the parent/carer in tuning into what’s really going on.
-
Build trust gradually. Our short-form activities (5-20 minutes) help families engage regularly, which strengthens trust over time and enables deeper, more meaningful connection.
-
Bridge the gap between busy lives and relational health. With on-demand access from any device and no waiting lists, LOHA meets the reality of modern family life so meaningful connection is practical and sustainable.
-
Turn everyday moments into connection moments. Whether it’s a quick ice-breaker conversation around screen-time, a creative reflection on a school transition, or a structured chat about social media pressure — we help families use ordinary times to build deeper relationship quality.
Through focusing on shared experiences, guided prompts and regular engagement, LOHA helps families move from “we’re just getting by” to “we’re growing together” improving emotional resilience of teens. LOHA provides access to 13 programmes and 38 activities to support teenagers overcome challenges such as anxiety, school pressures and screentime.
